Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is to let you know that on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, A.R. Kaufman initiated a school lockdown at approximately 2:00 pm due to a trespassing violation inside the building. There was no student contact with the trespasser, and minimum staff interaction. No student or staff were harmed during the incident.

The suspect was apprehended by police and is currently in their custody. We are working closely with the WRDSB security and the Waterloo Region Police Services to ensure that everyone continues to be safe at A. R. Kaufman PS. As always, everyone’s safety and security is a top priority for us.
