The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is committed to transforming education. All students deserve the opportunity to rise to their highest potential. Identity and social location must no longer predict outcomes for students.
To help guide WRDSB staff in their work making this vision a reality, we create a Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP) each school year.
2023-24 Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP)
Each district school board is expected to develop a Student Achievement Plan to support the implementation and achievement of the strategic plan. The WRDSB has incorporated the Student Achievement Plan requirements within the BIEP.
Guided by the strategic directions of the WRDSB Strategic Plan and priorities identified by the Ministry of Education, we developed our 2023-24 Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP).
About the Board Improvement and Equity Plan
The WRDSB BIEP has performance indicators in four key areas:
- Achievement
- Pathways and transitions
- Sovereignty, human rights and equity
- Mental health, well-being and engagement
The strategies and actions outlined in the BIEP are only part of the picture. We know there are many ways WRDSB staff:
- Help support students to meet their educational goals;
- Foster safe and welcoming learning and work environments;
- Prepare students for future career pathways.
Sharing Outcomes
We are committed to sharing the outcomes of our efforts with you in late 2024. What we learn will help us to inform decision-making and further refine our strategies to better support all students in achieving their full potential.
We appreciate your support as we continue to work to support student achievement and well-being in partnership with:
- Students
