Bus Cancellations and School Closures:
Parents are encouraged to check the following media outlets for bus cancellation and school closures on mornings when the weather appears to be severe. Please do not call the school office. Please listen to the information carefully, as sometimes transportation will be cancelled, while schools will still be open. As always, it is the parent’s decision whether or not to send a child to school due to weather conditions. Please call our attendance line if your child is staying at home for the day.

When the school opens, it will be kept open unless very unusual circumstances occur. An announcement will be made on the radio stations and posted on the WRDSB website as soon as possible prior to the early closure. The school will make every attempt to reach parents/guardians or the first emergency contact person based on the phone numbers we have been given. If no direct contact can be made, the student will remain at school until the parents/guardians can be reached.
Winter days at School:
On days when the weather is cold, snowy or windy, please consider the following:
- Students need to be dressed for the weather. Students will spend two 20 minute breaks outside during the day, and they need to be dressed to keep warm and dry. There may be times when the decision is made to have indoor nutrition breaks if the weather turns very cold during the school day.
- Morning supervision begins at 8:30am, and students should not be on the school grounds before that time.
- Please ensure that students arrive at school before the 8:40am bell so that they can enter the school at their designated school door, and have time to remove their coats and boots before class time begins.
