A.R. Kaufman Public School is a culturally diverse JK-8 school located at the corner of Westmount Rd. and Chopin Dr. in the Victoria Hills neighborhood. Our student population is approximately 340 students and we have close to 50 staff members.

Every day, our staff and students strive to live by the 4 Keys of Kaufman – Caring, Responsibility, Respect and Honesty. We hold weekly school assemblies to help students and staff connect with each other, showcase student talent, and recognise those students who have been awarded “Salutes” for demonstrating one of the Keys to another student or staff member. Parents are always welcome to attend our weekly assemblies.

We have 3 Kindergarten classes each of which are a JK/SK blend. We have the Before and After School Childcare program operating in our school this year, for students in grades JK to 2.

ARK has a fairly small school boundary which enables all of our students to walk to school. There is a crossing guard stationed at the corner of Westmount and Chopin, and also at the corner of Chopin Dr. and Hazelglen Dr. to assist students in travelling to school safely. Bussing is provided for our students registered in our congregated classes (ABLE classes and area Enrichment Program).

The majority of our grade 8 students will graduate to KCI for high school. Some students are accepted into magnet programs at Cameron Heights (IB program) or Forest Heights (ESL program).
